d16z6 Installation Problem

one of our own AF members, bambamlx or something, aka jordan installed a d16z6 engine into his 89 Civic LX. Now...he has the engine in and all the wiring done, but when he turns on the car, nothing happens. Well...The accessory lights come on, but the car doesn't even turn or anything. Before he told me that it cranked, but didn't turn over because he had no rotor. He bought a rotor and installed it, and now this time it wont even crank. Any suggestions to get him back on the road?

yep, we kept rechecking grounds. Also, when we try to start it, the battery drains real quick. We tried diff batteries as well, same results.
