If you shift well, I think you'll have a slight edge on him, though it'll be close. I raced my 95 3.4L Camaro against a 2000 Mustang, and he had me by about 3/4's of a car to a car at 100 mph (he was an auto, I was a stick). He's got a 3.8L in the 97, and I don't know how much of a difference there is between those two motors, but it should be yours to lose, especially with your mods to a stock engine.

-150 hp at 4000 rpms -9.0:1 compression 00 3.8L Mustang -190 hp at 5250 rpms -9.36:1 compression I think you will have the edge, just make sure you shift good and you should be set. Any slip ups on your part and kiss the win good bye.
