SRS light

how do i turn off my SRS light. I have a 97 integra gsr

pretty much, it stands for safety restraint system, but means air bag. as far as the light being on, try resetting the ecu, if the light stays on, get it checked to make sure the system that operates the air bag isn't messed up.

how do i reset the ecu? do i just take it out and put it back in?

I think you can just unplug the battery for a few minutes not sure and you will have to reset radio stations. There is also a little green button right above the gas peddle under the dash that you push to reset the maintence light when you have it done by someone other than an Acura dealership but I dont know if that will work for this.

I had that problem also where the SRS light turned on.....The problem was my battery was dieing.....as soon as I replaced it it reset...im not sure if thats the same problem you have but try a new battery and see if that works.

look to see if your car has a fuse for the ecu and you can pull that. what you do is start your car up and then pull ou the fuse, the car will turn off and then you wait a few minutes and then put the fuse back in and start the car back up. also i didnt think so but the your teg might be like the newer civics, do you have any new electical devices inside your car ie neons indiglo gauges, a tach, anything? cause in the newer civics those all set off the srs light because they have dumb sensors everywhere including inside the seats.
