Transmission question

Hello,
I need some technical help. I have a 1993 Honda Del Sol
(no Vtech), manual transmission. About two months ago while out of town I had a problem with my transmission. I stopped at a stop sign and when the light turned green the car would not go into gear. I turned the car off and it went into gear. But when I would start to drive and tried to change gears it wouldn’t go. So I made it to a garage and they said that the master cylinder was out ($280.00) they changed it out and I headed home 50 miles later and still 100 miles from home it started doing it again. Luckily I was on the highway and didn’t have to change gears. When I made it home I noticed that I could force it into gear. It was acting like I had no clutch. So I replaced the slave cylinder and everything seemed fine. Then it started up again, not as extreme I could still change gears but I took some muscle. Was getting ready to take it to another mechanic when it fixed itself, ran great no sticking shifted like nothing happened. Now a month and a half later it’s doing it again.
Does anyone have an idea as to what part is defective here? If I could isolate the problem I might be able to fix it myself and save some money.
Thanx for any input.

Well, when replacing a clutch cylinder, it's always good to replace the other with it so good move on that one.

At this point, I would say check your clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing to see if they're worn and need to be replaced. With the clutch cylinders leaking or bad, you could have put excessive wear on the clutch components themselves. My Accord would fight me when shifting and turned out my clutch was going (it was REALLY worn). Replaced all three components (and the rear engine seal while I was back there) and it hasn't given me a peep of issues since. Been almost a year.
