I've got a 1986 pontiac parisienne and I keep the air cleaner lid upside down all the time. You just have to change the filter more often, and you can take the filter off and blow it out with an air hose and nozzle.
Blow it from the inside out.

Re: 1984 Pontiac Parisienne Wagon

Hollow out the catalytic converter (if it has one :P) That way it'll still look like it has one, but you'll get better flow through the exhaust system.
You can also make an imitation ram-air system using some flex tubing, just hook it up to the air cleaner and have it going up to the grille. (A friend of mine did this with his 454 powered Suburban )
Other than that, new spark plugs/wires might help a little bit. If all else fails, you can follow the asian-car mantra: stickers = performance!

Re: 1984 Pontiac Parisienne Wagon

I attended technical college for 2 years and graduated with a technical diploma in automotive. During this time I did not find out what an upside down air cleaner cover does, however one guy in the class had the one on his Chevy truck flipped over and the teacher (this is a not, I repete not a joke) smacked him upside the head and told him to put it on the proper way.

Cheap ram air does work But you'd go over budget port matching the heads because you'd either have to take off the heads and therefore replace the head gaskets, or just get metal shavings in the cyinders and score them up.

You may be able to get a shift kit for under $50....

My tune ups always cost over $50 becuase I use ACDelco parts ONLY, but they never let me down.

Why is it I see so many "Proud to be an American" bumper stickers on the backs of cars made in Japan or Korea??????

86 Pontiac Parisienne AC/Heat Vacuum hoses

anyone know how to get at the vacuum hoses in a parisienne? do you take of the dash, go through the heater core? My vents stopped switching from floor to dash a while ago and I hear a hissing sound coming from behind my stereo. Thanks for the help in advance.

I have an '82 Parisienne. I cut the catalytic converter right off and just welded a new piece of pipe in it's place. That's about 50 bucks to have done.

Can't do much with 50 bucks i'm afraid.
