Thumbs down Ok whats the deal on the b16a distributor??

I saw an ad that someone is selling the b16a distributor and said to make best offer cause he needs to get rid of it in a week. So yeh i kinda did low balled him offered 30 bucks to the guy. Well he emailed me back wanting 250 for it!! Ok i just dont understand why someone will pay that much for a distributor thats 12 yrs old and it could break down on u the next day? I've seen alot for that price between 150-250. ITs kinda stupid how they just overprice that shit. Sorry i had to vent but man!

They're hard as fuck to get ahold of.. I think I payed 3 for a rebuilt one with a warantee when mine went..

I actually had a set of 15" teg rims I picked up for $150 and the guy wanted them so I told him give me the distributer and $200 and we'll call it even.

the b16 is a JDM engine, so its not found stock here in America. The distributor you looked at is for the American engine, and parts don't interchange with the B and D series that i know of

Yeh REBUILT. His shit is old. And i've seen used ones that are really over priced. I dont care how rare it is. I will never pay that much for a used distributor.

Eh.. I didn't know what else to do, I needed my car to be fixed and fast.. So, I got rid of some wheels I had, but wound up getting payed to take the distributer.

Its because there is no American equivalent. The closest thing is a LS distributor but to get that to work you have to cut off one of the stalks.

The reason that they are so expensive is because idiots pay that much for something that they think is cool.

Need I say anymore?

maybe some people buy them cause they thinks its cool to say JDM, but if mine breaks, ill buy another one cause i dont feel like cheaply rigging anything to make it work.

either that, or ill take a new LS one, and have an alternator/starter shop swap the internals from it into my b16 dizzy housing.

im not gonna cut the third leg off, no matter how much people say i dont need it.
