Sir vs. Type R engine

Ok guys i need good advice here. I have been debating between getting a type R or an SiR engine. Now i know that the type R is more expensive but im just wondering if in the long run i'll be able to get more useful power out of it. And i also heard that with the type R you cant really take advantage of the extra power because it uses the hydraulic trans whereas the 4g's are cable trans so you dont really get tge full experience of the engine. Im wondering if there is anyway to get that type R tranny in there or if its a waste of time and i should just get a B16 and work on it. What do you guys think?

The B18c5 has more power and torque straight out of the box but both motors can be built to have really good and useful power. You can utilize the hydraulic trans if you custom fab a lot of stuff. From what I have heard Hasport is realeasing a kit to run a hydraulic trans with the stock cable setup. The b18c5 is a newer obd which will require buying a conversion harness to run the new ecu. It is alot of work to get it into a 4th gen civic or 2nd gen crx but it is well worth it if you have the money and time to do the swap

I'd choose the type r over b16a anyday. Yes it is expensive i'd go with the gsr swap. Both are 1.8 and torquey. You'll be fine with the gsr. I dont know about that hydro and cable power bullshit but i love cable more than hydro.

Try a day ago, a week ago, 2 weeks ago, a month ago etc etc. All by people who will never fit a C5 to their engine bay anyway.

Same answer to this stupid repetitive question: CRVTEC. Best of both worlds in a mild build or get the B16 because you'd be stuped to waste the money on a C5
