No, actually your in a really good position. First of all, you know a lot about cars, and you don't even have one yet. This means that when you are looking for a car you will know exactly what you want, and exactly what to get. Most people don't really get interested in cars until they have one and then its to late to get a different one. The other good thing is that you have time to save money. I don't know if your parents are going to buy it for you, or if you will have to buy it yourself, but you should get a job. You said that you work at a garage. If you get paid thats great. Also during the summer you can do yard work around where you live for extra money, and in the winter you can shovel people's driveways or something. So when the time comes to get a car, you have a good wad of cash. That means that you can either get a really good car, or if your parents buy you a car, you have money to put into it to make it better.

I couldn't afford to get a car until I was a junior in college. I was 21 before I got my a well used Nissan Sentra. Just had to be patient until I could fork over the $$$ and still pay tuition. Give yourself time. Its nice to own a car, but its not a "must have" for most kids. If you know the kind of car you'd like to have then start saving now and you'll be ready when the time is right.

Unhappy

*sigh*

I understand what you all mean, I am getting paid for working at the garge. We install a lot of performance parts, so i guess when i get my car, i'll get some hook ups there, it just really gets to me tho. It's just so damn aggravating, when some 18 year old ricer comes in who doesn't know how to change his own tires.

Oh and Yogs, I'm planning on going to Royal Military College, that way i won't have to pay much for college, only a couple grand wich i will probly get cash bonuses for the military anyways.

just a matter of time. . .

I didn't give a darn about cars until I got my first at 18, a 1991 Sentra with 162,000 miles. Luckily, it was a really good, reliable car, and now I am a lot more interested in them.

Even if, at 16, you still cannot afford to buy a car, that doesn't mean you can't test-drive a bunch and do a bunch of research to find exactly what you're saving up for.

I know it can be really frustrating, but you can use your job to your advantage as you have contact with a lot of cars and can begin noticing good and bad points about the cars you work with.

You don't, however, know more about punctuation.
