Re: Noir

Noir is AWESOME!!! Plus the music is awesome as well. It coincides very well with the action scenes.

Re: Noir

What is Noir about. I have seen it a couple of times on the shelfs of Hastings, but I have been burned by to many animes to grab it before. Just a little info to make sure I am not getting something that looks cool but really sucks.

Noir is the story of two mysterious female contract killers. The elder of the two suffered through some sort of childhood trauma, the younger was "programmed" to become the ultimate assasin and has absolutely no knowledge of who she is.

It's a fairly good series, handled by Bee Train - the same studio behind .hack//sign - and the only thing it really suffers from is a pacing issue. The story creeps along slowly and the episodes tend to have a lot of "flashbacks" to already viewed scenes. The dub is quite good; handled by ADV with current hot property Monica Rial (voice of Hyatt in Excel Saga and Haruka Shitow from Rahxephon) as Kirika Yumura and newcomer Shelley Calene-Black as Mireille Bouquet. I'd certainly recommend the series.

Re: Noir

NOIR is awesome. I saw it fansubbed by Soldats a long time ago (I believe this was one of the first true animes I saw), and the story is quite different from anything else I've seen. Not to give anything away... you follow the life of Kirika Yumura and Mireille Bouquet, both are trying to become the ultimate assassins, or NOIR. Good story and better actions scenes make this one a good watch.

My rating: 5/5

Also, stay on the lookout for NOIR 2 which should be coming out this summer.
