Talking FINISHED: Mercedes Benz C Class DTM - Street version

Just started this new project, a C Class DTM. Since I have two boxes of this car in my room, i'm going to build one as a street version and one as a race car. so the street version first:

Try to make it more like a street car and different from the race car that i'm going to build so there will be a few small changes.

Current Progress: 20%

The body colour is some gun of dark metallic grey... will do the panel lines + window frames then clear coat it.. but a bit tempted to not clear coat it and leave it as a flat colour

I'd go with chrome simply to add some pizzaz to the front end and make it look more "stock". I'm liking this one a lot more than most street conversions.

Nice looking project.

PS....I'd be willing to take those Promart decals off your hands if you are not going to use them !!

pman, yeah i can give you whatever is left.. however, please wait until i finish my other box of the Pro-Markt DTM class first .. cos i'm a bit worry i will screw up one or two decals because i'm still not very good at applying decals.. but yeah i'll reserve them for you

Octagon (and other guys) , i just put the front grille onto the car and take a pic.. tell me if you still think the chrome fits the car or i should paint them black...

I'd paint only the insides black, like on the real one.

Cheers man.
I'm really only after the NOKIA decal on the back left guard.... would be a good change to repair it.

The chrome still fits, it just looks out of place right now because the headlights aren't flanking it.

I agree with huudo, the grille mesh needs to be painted black...

... or cut away and replaced with the mesh that Tamiya usually includes with its kits. Either way, keep the chrome grille surround.

Thanks for the suggestions i'll follow you guys idea and paint the inside back. Probably won't cut them away as i'm a bit unsure about my skills.

Pman, so just the nokia decal on back left guard? then it's easy .. PM me your address and i'll mail it to you straight away

Re: Mercedes Benz C Class DTM - Street version

See, told you the chrome would look good on it. But, seriously, it turned out beautifully. Definitely worthy of my highest award.

By the way, looking further at this. I'm reminded of Men in Black II.

You used to drive that old busted joint. I drive the new hotness.
