Program keyless remote-Need instructions
Hello everyone;
I just bought a 2001 4Runner LTD. It came with only one remote & I'd like to buy an additional one. I was checking listings on ebay & some come with programming instructions and some do not. Don't totally trust their claims & would feel better if I had instructions from another source. My remote has 3 buttons on the front (lock, unlock & rear window) with a red panic button on the back. The FCC ID # is HYQ1512Y. Thanks in advance for any all help. |

Re: Program keyless remote-Need instructions
The dealer was happy to give it to me so here is the procedure. let me know if it works. (Camry 02 and 03)
1. Driver door open and unlocked. Key out of the ignition 2. Insert the key and remove 2 times in 5 sec. 3. Close and open driver door 2 times in 40 sec. 4. Insert the key and remove it again from ignition. 5. Close and open driver door 2 times in 40 sec. 6. Insert the key in ignition, 7. Close the door, 8. Turn to on and back to lock in 1 second intervals. 1 time for add, 2 times for rewrite, 3 for confirmation 5 for prohibition. (yes, there is no “4”) 9. Remove the key 10. Power lock will cycle to confirm 11. For add or rewrite mode within 40 sec of the confirmation, A. press “lock” and “unlock” buttons of the FOB at the same time between 1 and 1.5 seconds. B. within 3 sec press “Lock” button for more than 1 sec and release. C. If it’s correct, the power door lock will cycle once. If it’s wrong the door lock will cycle twice. 4Runner Instructions I have a 1999 4Runner and I followed the directions above (which I've copied below) with one exception. In step 8 -- I held the lock button instead of the unlock button in order for the directions to work. Step 1 - open drivers side door and get in your vehicle. Step 2 - put key completely into ignition,then pull out. Step 3- with door open, lock and unlock 5 times on door console (ten clicks total). Step 4 - close door then open door. Step 5 - lock and unlock 5 times on door console (ten clicks total). Step 6 - put key completely into ignition then turn to the on position then pull key out (you will now hear the door locks lock then unlock a couple of times) Step 7 - now quickly press the lock and unlock buttons at the same time only for about a second. Step 8 - then quickly press the lock button for just a second. Step 9 - exit car and close the door After you do this you should hear a beep then your lights will flash. This will indicate that your remote is programmed to your vehicle. |

Looking for 03' 4Runner Key Codes
I purchased a 03' Toyota Keyless transmitter but I can not program or find the instructions for programing the transmitter. The dealer wants to charge me $80 for programming (No Way) Actualy they said "$140 for remote, $80 to program remote, and another $60 for key". That was $280 for ONE new remote and key! Belive me, I told them they were out of their mind to charge that much. I wanted 2 keys made but I was not going to paid over $500 for a set of keys. I now have the new parts but I need help with programming. Can someone please help?
Thanks in advance for your reply! |

Hey everyone, I solved my own issue (I like it when I can do that). If anyone needs codes for 95' - 03' Toyota Avalon, Camery, Celica, Corolla, Echo, 4Runner, Highlander, Matrix, Prius, Rav4, Sequoia, Sienna, or Solara I have most of these (they all use 1 of 4 different codes). I will try and post all 4 codes some time but not tonight. It's late and there is to much info to list. Maybe I will just post info on my personal web site and give you all the link. I have a hard copy at the moment. If you need remotes, check here: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...sort=3&rows=50 I bought mine from this person and it was new and all original Toyota keyless remote at a fraction of the dealer price and worked great! He will also send you programming information. Take Care Everyone! |

Re: Program keyless remote-Need instructions
Here is a way for programming a remote for a 2000 Avalon. This method should work for 2001 Avalon also.
Key out Driver door open and unlocked Insert key into ignition and pull out Lock then unlock the power locks from the master switch 5 times Close and then open the driver's door Lock then unlock the power locks from the master switch 5 times Insert the key into the ignition and turn to ON then OFF, then remove key Locks should cycle - If they don't repeat Press both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote simultaneously for 1 second Immediately after letting go of the two buttons, press the LOCK button for 2 seconds The locks should then cycle once. If they cycle twice, try again. Close the driver door |

Re: Re: Program keyless remote-Need instructions
Thanks, Brian R. I just tried your instructions and it does work for a 2001 Avalon. It's amazing how simple it is yet the dealer wanted $50 to do it.
