Real bedlinner?
Could you use real bedlinner on a plastic truck? I was just wondering. I woulnd't use any of the really expensive ones, I'd use a cheaper one, because the crappy ones have to be use for something too.

if you mean spray on liner it would be way too thick and it would have the bubbles in it wich would look way out of scale

I'm not positive as to how this would look, but I think that in this case, trying to get an orange peel paint job might be a good idea. It has the texture, and would probably look pretty good...

Rust-Oleum "Textured" paints would work well for bed liners and is perfect scale when dried.
I use it to represent suede in my interiors. |

Shoot primer from far away, that should give you the bumpy texture you need. You'll have to experiment on how far to spray.

Go to Walmart or Napa and look for the cheapest spray can of truck bed liner. I dont know the company or name of the stuff but there is a real cheap bed liner that is not much more than a rubberized black paint. Its super cheap and shouldnt be too out of scale, but a flat or semi-flat black would probbably give you the same result.

When I need to achieve that kind of texture I set my airbrush at a higher PSI so the paint dries on contact. You should try this method.

Ok, thanks guys. I don't think that I'll use real bedlinner, but I will experiment with a few things and tell you guys how it goes.

I meade a thread on it, do a search.
I used dupli-color truck bed spray, and held it pretty far-away, and turned out nice!
