1995 Talon ESI Fuel Filter location?
Where is this at? I bought a Fram filter and can't find where it goes. Looked on firewall and I didn't see it.

I know how you feel. After 2 hours looking in, around, and under the engine, i gave up. I took it to a local repair shop. It took the proffecionals 1 1/2 hours to put that thing in! I can't imagine how long it would have taken me. To reach the filter you have to put it on a lift, it is located behind the intake manifold, and is extremely hard to get to. Good luck I hope this was helpful.

Thanks for the tip I think I will go ahead and do the same and get someone else to put it in. You got a pic of your talon? Any mods done?

I can get a pic to you in the next day or two. I just started moding it about a month ago. It's just got intake, shift chip (it revs out at 8500 rpms instead of 7500),NGK wires, Splitfire spark plugs, and full custom cat back exhaust. It's not much but it's a start.

What kind of chip? I am looking for a good chip to upgrade my ecu. Did you get added hp? how about torque? Also if you have a link to the site fill me in. I have only found jet and don't know if they are good or not. FYI: MSD makes a coil pack upgrade to help out your ignition. http://www.msdignition.com/ go to sport coils and scroll down to mitsubishi. Planetperformance.com sells it for like $65.00 so that would be good to add a bit more to your ignition.

The chip i got in it didn't have any markings on it. I got it off of ebay for like $25 (most likelly off of the black market). All it did was to push my car to it's limits. Even though im able to shift at 8500 RPM's it doesn't do much yet. I have to have enough power to make use of the longer time inbetween shifts. Right now i start losing HP after 6500RPM's, andy sugjestions on how to get some high end. I would look into an AEM chip i saw in my Keystone catalog. It adds 25% more HP to a STOCK engine. If your running a 200 HP car the chip will boost it to 250 HP! I can only imagine what it will do to a car with a few mods. I checked out their website and they didn't have it listed, but if you are interested in it i can get you the hook up. I just got sponsered by a local Hot Rod shop. The name "Hot Rod Supply" is kind of missleading. They have two import guys that sit around and do nothing (did all my exhaust tubing[galvenized, rust resistand steel], muffler, high flow cat, for $80). Im sure i could order the chip and send it to you.
Here is a chip description off of ebay that is $25 cheap upgrade you might look into: CHEAP WAY TO ADD RELIABLE HORSEPOWER!! This chip does not void your warranty, and will not damage your car in any way. This chip adjusts your air fuel mixture and tells the computer that cool air is entering your motor, and free's up wasted HP!!!! Gains can range from 10-20HP depending on mods and type of engine. Your torque is increased and 1/4 mile times rapidly drop. YOU WILL NOTICE A BIG DIFFERENCE!! ALSO, This is not the cheap five dollar chip that people have been selling on ebay. This is a high quality chip that will certainly add horsepower and torque without sacrificing RELIABILITY like the cheap ones. Unit comes with easy to follow installation instructions and I will be available for advice during this process. Last edited by 97ESi; 08-10-2003 at 10:56 AM. |
