sl500 vs. sc430 which is better

I disagree with you... My dad has an SC430 and its amazing. The seats are very comfterble and the interior is very nice. Ive been in many SL500s and I wasnt very impressed. The Lexus it very very fast too. Im sure it could beat an SL500. Looking at the 0-60 stats and stuff, the SL seems better, but I really dont think it is. The SC430 is also a lot cheaper

Whats the basis of you "not thinking it is"? Stats dont lie

The Lexus is a good cruiser but has an underwhelming chassis

While I think the SC430 looks better, the SL500 is clearly the better performer.
But if out right performance is not what you are looking for, or is not a priority then you simply have to drive both and deciede which one you feel the most comfterble in.

SC430 is fugly IMHO

The SC430 is also disappointing as a drivers car- the dynamics are no where near similar to that of the SL500.

Although the sc430 is a pretty nice car, I would def. say get the SL500. Also if you are looking to spend that much money on a car, I would personally look at a vette, viper, or a clk55 amg (but the sl500 is very nice as well but the clk55 amg would have better performance). Hope this helps

Well... On the way back from looking for Ferraris around town me and my dad pulled up next to an SL500 on the high way that we saw while looking for ferraris. Same color, same license and everything, it was kind of freaky...He/She had the top up and the windows up so it was hard to tell who was in it. He sort of took off but we caught up to him and passed him fairly easily. Once the Lexus gets going, its very fast. Also, its got the nicest sound system Ive ever heard. Its almost half the price of the Mercedes and I think is comparable to it. Here is the car:

Just checked Supercars.net - Lexus SC430 0-60 5.9 seconds
Mercedes SL500 6.2 seconds

Also, the New England Patriots owner has an SC430. My dads cousin works for the Patriots so we know the owner and his son. The owner has an LS430 because hes a bit older and his son has an SC430. Yup... Owner of a SuperBowl winning team thats a millionare could have 900 Ferraris, has an SC430. If you like harder seats and kind of sports car feel the SL is what you want. I cant stand those seats. The SLs before the recent style has the worst seats ever...Ide rather sit on ply wood. The newer SLs are a bit better though

sl500 hands down. i always thought the SC430 was one of the ugliest things on the road. adn those 19 inch rims are hidious.

like everyone else, sl500 hands down. the sc430 is a lexus, but even then no comparison to the benz
