carbon fibre tails

Hey guys i got carbon fibre tails for my car and they look awesome. Well the tail lights do anyways. Why do they have to make those god aweful ugly centerpieces. Mine has these stupid little red reflectors with another clear reflector inside and it is butt ugly. Does anyone know of any good cf centerpieces? I was thinking of covering my old centerpiece with cf overlay and putting a civic decal overtop what do you guys think?

I think that'd look good.

What I was planning to do if I ever get my carbon fiber altezzas is to use the stock centerpiece and spray-tint it really dark... I was also going to spray-tint the lights too.

Think a carbon-fiber overlay would be nice if you can do it.

id paint match it to the color of the car and just leave the reflectors uncovered for legal reasons.

Why can't they use real carbon fiber instead of that stick on crap. Real CF is so clean, I have CF tails too but wish they were real.

But what you pay for these stupid things they should be real carbon fiber. I got mine for $110 and that was just waiting and watching for about 3 months to catch them low. Usually they for for like $150 or more. Plus they don't say carbon fiber look , or fake carbon fiber they act like it's the real thing. I mean if you can get a CF hood now days for $350 why can't you get some tails for $150? If I thought I could do it I would pull my euros apart and relay them with real carbon.

How hard would it be? Are they like glued together. I would try it on my center piece first since it's ugly and I am just going to paint my stock one.

we took some altezzas apart and painted the housing black, and then put the clear lens back on. all you gotta do is wrap it in a moist towel and put it in the oven at 300 degrees for about 10-15 minutes. then the glue will be soft enough for you to pry it apart with a blunt knife.

its a pain in the ass, but its worth it

because theres only like 2 companies in the whole aftermarket system that uses carbon fiber for it's real purpose...weight reduction...why would you need carbon fiber in a plastic tailights that's already as light as it's gonna get....
