Engine Codes...Can I get some Advice?
Ok, So I took my 2L, Stick, 97 Jetta to autozone, they read the codes off to me for my engine light, and told me what the problems were. I think that He said I had 2 codes for the 02 sensor, I know the sensor isn't bad, because the dealer near me told me that if she wasn't blowing a lot of smoke that the sensor was still working. the codes are P0135 and P0134
Also, I have misfiring in my Engine, on 2 cylinders #3 and #4 (What's the deal with the #3 cylinder and Volkswagen, they've had problems with that Cylinder since the late 1930's in the early bugs...hahaha) Anyways, It's engine Code P0303 and P0304 I know the timing belt hasn't been changed ever or the tensioner, but my car gets 32mpg on the highway (going about 80) which I would say is great! And the Car has 93K miles on it. Anyways Do you think the misfire is because of the timing belt? It's on my "to do" list, but I can't afford it till I get my '67 Bus sold. Anyways Thanks for any advice!!! James

kid,
I suggest you visit a great website called OBDII.com. They have a deep database for all trouble codes and and a nice forum to find the answers you seek.
