Don't hate me...
I took Dorikin's [facetious] advice and got a Civic tonight. It's a 2003 Si model, and I must say, it's very tight. And I mean that literally: the handling is tighter than any other car I've driven, and it almost feels like an over-sized go-cart, albeit with plenty of power underfoot :P. And mynismo, I wholeheartedly agree with what you've said about driving stick. This is my first manual car, and although I'm still not entirely confident nor sure, it's loads of fun. I don't think I'll be doing any modifications to the car because it seems fine to me as-is, and I'm not particularly into the whole ricey thing. But I'd like to think this car can transcend rice boundaries. Sure it's FWD, but damn is it fun to drive!. So, don't hate me, guys (and gal) : ).

i don't really like the exterior at all, just a mini-minivan, as said many times, but if it drives that well, and plus you'll be inside the car most of the time. how different is it shifting at that angle?

Stock 240sx owns you...
Thats all good that you have a new car... but you will still get owned by any stock ka24de...
 not to mention how much are your monthly payments

too bad you dont live near me, I have a blue 2000 SI with 17K miles for sale...
My 240 will beat the 2000 SI and the 2003's are slower than the 2000s

Well, it's a good thing I shan't be racing : ). And to whomever asked, the payment is less than $300/month, which seems quite reasonable for such a car. And to whomever else asked, this is in the 240 forum because this is where I 'hang out.' I find the regulars here to very knowledgeable about all cars, not just 240s, and I enjoy reading what they have to say. Is that ok? I suppose I could've thrown in some sort of comparison to the S14's I've driven, but I didn't really feel like starting any arguments...but in case anybody's wondering, the handling feels slightly tighter. As far as acceleration, I never floored the S14, and, well, I need to put about 550 more miles on the Civic before I do that, so...we'll see : ). But yeah, it's plenty fast enough for me, and, damnit, I like the mini-mini-van styling :P.

Congratulations on your new car. Im glad you bought something you LIKED instead of something thats stylish or has good #s on paper. Even though your car is slower than a 240sx and looks like an Egg on wheels; if its the car YOU like BEST then you've made the right choice.

240sx's look good, and I really don't like any honda civic's. Tell me why this is in the 240sx forums anyway.
