not smooth shift from 1st to 2nd

hi,

i am new to this forum. also dont know much about car... i got a 95 gsx in feb, 2003. and now i am trying to learn more about it. i hope that you guys can help me with this little problem that my car is having now.

when i bought the car, i the car was ok. but since may, almost all the time when i shift from 1st to 2nd, it become not smooth. it does not grind, but the feeling is weird. it needs me to push harder than before in order to get into 2nd. i did not know what's wrong, but i just changed the gear oil (from unknown oil to redline oil), it got a little better after i change the gear oil. but now i think it is getting bad again. i am just wondering if u have had the same porblem now, or before?

another thing, i am just wondering if the reverse gear in 95 eclipse gsx is synchroed or not? becuz when i am driving forward, and make a quick (not complete stop) but @about 1 or 2 mph, and then put it into reverse, the gear will grind. all the time, i have to make a complete stop, the put in reverse. also, sometimes i cannot put it in reverse, i have let the clutch out then let the clutch in and then put it in reverse. can anyone tell me why?

Check your shift cables, and don't shift into reverse whilst moving.
