i would really like to have a 1/18 model of the us bigazzi mclaren chassis #017R ( i love this car! ) . I want it with the flat headlights tho, not those ugly buldging things. i know u can get them i just don't know where. i would be willing to pay up to $160 for it. if anyone knows where i can get one PLEASE tell me.

You will have to pay that much (~$160), because those are quite rare. I believe they are only available in dealer boxes, meaning that UT never actually sold their own version, but they were sold through BMW dealerships. I don't know of any place you can still buy them new, but I haven't really looked for one lately. Your best bet is going to be Fleabay for sure.

I will have to check to see if any are available with the flat headlights - I don't believe that UT built any of the '96 Spec GTRs with flat headlights so you might be SOL on that portion of your request.

As to your PM on the EMI car - that one appears to be 1/18th as the auction states. You could contact the seller to ask. It doesn't appear that it comes with the original box though.

It turns out I was mostly right with my assumptions. If you want the #39 car with the US Flag, it's only available in the dealer box, and only with the raised headlights. The 38 FINA car is the British/France flag car and it's also only available in the dealer box with the raised lights. Here's a shot of the 38 car along with it's box:

Now there is one odd ball car, in that there was never a real GTR that looked exactly like it - it's white, it wears a livery similar to the FINA GTRs, has no race numbers, and it has the flat headlights. Not exaclty what you want, but possibly more appealing than the alternatives?

This car is extremely rare - I don't recall ever seeing more than one for sale on Ebay. Notice that in the details, this is actually the '95 UT GTR body - things like the vent opening in the hood, and the double-plane rear spoiler give that away.

Personally, I'd go for the car you like more which I assume is the #39 FINA GTR with the US Flag livery, ignoring the raised headlights. The flush headlamps on the UT cars look retarded inside anyway. Just know that it may cost all of your $160, maybe even a bit more if its in good shape and the box is mint, and you'll have to watch Ebay closely for one to appear as they aren't seen all that often.

No, it's made by UT. I have one here on my desk... not for sale though. It has no numbers just the FINA logo and Motorsport flags. It's got the rear wing and front bumper but no front splitter. The interior is standard GTR.

UT & Paul's Model Art & Minichamps are for all intents and purposes the same company. There's more to it than that, but they are all the same when speaking of the product regardless of what name is applied to the packaging.

That's cool that you have that one Drew.
