Are you talking about Eunos Roadster? I think it completely normal Tamiya kit, although interior detailing in door panels is amazingly poor by Tamiya standards. But all the plastics used are nothing special, so I don't know what you mean by the kit being brittle.

Maybe it was a really old kit, and the plastic got brittle over time?

I had the same problem with my Tamiya MX-S Lowdown kit. The plastic was hard to cut and was very brittle, in fact it would break when I was tring to cut the plastic.

I think coz' of cost, Tamiya use some cheap quality ABS plastic for certain period......maybe during the production cycle of Eunos and SMX.

I also have the SMX kit, and the plastic used on SMX lowdown is very hard, and easy to break.
