STD to MPFI

Pretty much all the posts I have seen are to do the DX to mpfi.
Will the STD be all the same parts and process?
Also, do i need an Si ECU to do this?

what he said

just so you understand...DX & STD are basically the same thing when it comes to the engine set-up. they have the same block, head, ecu, and so on. so why did they bother making a STD? it was the absolute base model. you'll find zero extras where every now and again you'll find a dx with an upgrade like say power steering.

Actually, the DX ECU is the PM5, whereas the STD ECU is the very unheard of PM9. And whats' weird is my DX didnt even come with A/C, but my brother's STD did.
