Greets,
My dome light seems rather weak and I'd like to replace it with something brighter. What is everyone's opinion on replacing a stock interior light with something brighter like a xenon bulb or something of the like? Does anyone know if it will muck around with or melt the contacts or if the power consumption is incorrect for the stock light socket or the bulb burns hotter? I was considering a xenon blue or white interior dome light bulb (something like that... something brighter), but I want to make sure it's safe for the dome light housing. If it's okay, can anyone recommend any decent brands? Thanks all.

I would reccomend that you just put a xeon in there, leave it on for 15min or so, and then check to see how hot the housing is getting.

I may give that a shot. A pack of the bulbs is like $15 though, so I was hoping to get some concrete info before I threw $15 out the window on something that may or may not work or fry something.
