Lightbulb Kure Nismo GT-R (R33) meet

Today I bought this Tamiya kit, and I am really excited. I've seen a few around here, but why not join them all together?
Also, if you have any build-up tips or advices, please let me know. I'm shure it isn't much straight forward as it seems, 'cos it has so many spare parts...

Bring 'em up guys...

Reference pics are hard to come by. This is the best I've ever found

The detail that concerns me most is that the hood on this kit has a huge duct in it, with little arches cut out that I guarantee you are for engine plumbing. But with no engine, we have a problem! I plan to use extra sprue painted TS-30 and some aluminum tubing in the arches, and just guess on a size that works. Then there's the uppermost top intake on the front bumper... the one where the "GT-R" symbol goes on a stock GT-R. I don't think the intercooler covers it, so it becomes a window into the engine bay, but there's no engine again. I'm hoping some mesh, possibly mounted on some flat black cardstock will fix this.

Other than that, I'm building mine kinda streetwise, so I can't comment on fit of all the parts (1/2 of my parts are going right back into the box...) The suspension is coming together nicely, though.

Well, I have one more question, PMan (hope this is the last one ): I'm kinda confused about how the underside should be painted. The instructions say that it should be TS-17 (?) Gloss Aluminum, but I've read in other post that it should be the same colour as the body. Could you send a pic of yours? Thanks a lot!

hey, i havent built the Kure but im sure that the bottom should be Aluminum because this is a race car. a street version would be painted the same as the body but the race version is probably Aluminum because on race cars they strip out floor pans and such and replace with lighter material. hope this helps.

The complete bottom is painted in Aluminum TS17.
The kit is very straight forward to build. You shouldn't have any trouble with it.
