Alright heres the deal.. i just bought my 89 mustang lx hatchback. its a 5.0 stick with only the exhast as a mod.. i think its a flowmaster offroad h-pipe or something (BTW, i dont know cars). ok the thing pulls very good however im interested in buying a turbo or supercharger. my questions would have to be... which ones better, what costs more, what would my hpwr be, and will alot of work have to be done to my stock stang in order for it to work? any advice would be very gratefull.. thanks.

For you I would suggest a supercharger for the car. Easier to instal or have installed, and cheaper then going turbo. You would also have to upgrade your fuel system to accommodate the more fuel that will be used.

I would go with a blower for your car. You can buy a vortech S-trim kit or a procharger and they literally bolt on, save for maybe a little bit of cutting, but most turbo kits do involve cutting, welding, and some massaging of parts. For your car I would recommend a procharger kit with the P1SC or D1SC and 3 core intercooler.

ok so a supercharger would be easier.. but if my stang is stock.. and i make a charger work in there what will the hpwr be at? and will it be really bad for the car? (i heard chargers/turbos take avg 5 years off the cars life..)

With a 10 pound procharger on a basically stock mustang it should bring you up to around 300-330 RWHP, or about 110-140 RWHP over stock. Engine life isn't going to be shortened much/any if you don't go around with your foot on the floor, assuming your engine doesn't have 200 thousand miles on it already, in which case I wouldn't install a blower until you rebuild the motor. I would ditch the lousy stock FMU that comes with the kit and step up to 42 lb/hr injectors, and get a walbro GSS-317 fuel pump, and take it to a reputable tuner for a nice safe tune. Install would be around a thousand dollars, which is a total waste of money. You can do the install in your driveway with basic hand tools, a torque wrench, a bit of mechanical knowledge and some patience.
