Anything can be done. You could put a 2JZ Supra motor into it. It all depends on how much you wanna spend and how much downtime you want.
I can tell you it will be pricey, and if the new lancer n/t has the same engine setup as n/t 2g and 1g DSM's then you are in for some major work (engine and tranny are flipped to opposite side) |

4G63 into OZ Lancer
The 5G series of Lancer uses the F5M40 series of transmissions, which for reduced manufacturing cost have deleted the secondary transfer shaft that exists in the F5M20 and 30 series transmissions.
This is why the OZ Lancer has the engine sitting on the RHS of the engine bay, whereas all previous models have the engine on the LHS. This means that the OZ 4G94 has intake and exhaust manifolds are on the opposite sides of the head compared to the 4G63 DOHC ex Eclipse/Talon. The 4G94 does not rotate in the opposite direction to the 4G63 or any other Mitsubishi engine. In short, you can't fit a 2000 or earlier 4G63 into an OZ, even though it will mate to the transmission. If you can get a late model JDM 4G63 with the intake and exhaust switched (eg an EVO engine) it can be done. Using older Eclipse/Talon parts would require using the older transmission too. ie extremely MAJOR surgery to all parts of the engine bay, mounting points, axles ... |

4G63T into OZ Lancer
You can't use 1G/2G Eclipse/Talon partsm because the intake and exhaust manifolds are on the opposite sides of the head. This is because the Eclipse/Talon used the F5M31 or W5M33 transmission, and your OZ uses the new F5M42.
You need to get get a JDM 4G63T if you cna find one, and afford it. |

can be done
first you need mods to fit the 4wd at the back unless you have a half cut evo to take those metallic pieces and have them fitted on your car. another thing is that, there are many pieces that have to be included that you might missing some. Did you get a half cut car? What engine? IV.V.VI? eclipse? even on those cases there are things that are missing, minor but basic. I did conversions and its a painnnnnnnnnn in the ass. Best car to do a conversion is the subarus. All parts fit smoothly. If you have any questions let me know Be more specific about it. [email protected] |

First off, this swap might not even be legal, depending on where you're located. In most areas, it is illegal to swap in a motor older than the car.
For a motor of the same year or newer than an OZ Lancer('02 and up, correct?), you're pretty much limited to a Japanese or European Evo VII or VIII motor, which still may not pass emissions.
