Boost on a d16

How much boost can you run on an EX engine without messing with internals?

Fuel delivery and proper tuning is always the key, you can blow an engine on the smallest amount of boost if you are not tuned right.

That being said, the usual standard is 5-7psi on a stock d16 being somewhat conservative, and pushing up to 7-10 psi has been done with the right tuning.

16psi has been done with the right tuning.

Well if you have a turbo you damn well better slash that intake and header cuz those arnt exactly used. Well with just an exhaust and basil kit your looking at like 160-170 whp but it all depends on what else you have and your tuning.

Ok, thanks. I obviously don't know a lot about turbos, but why wouldn't you need and intake and headers? Sorry if that sounds retarded.

A turbo needs a turbo "header" (just one), better known as an exhaust manifold, and an intake to go onto the turbo housing, but uses pipes to deliver the air into the manifold.
