Help! I have a 95 G20, P10 and I put a new stereo head unit in. Now the alarm won't arm. It did shut everything down once after the new install. The security light just blinks forever and the alarm won't set. I called my local Infiniti dealer and they say that the alarm ran through the stereo, NON-BOSE-panasonic system with factory clarion amps, But they couldn't help me because they haven't done it. None of my local stereo shops have any ideas. How do I keep my new indash without jeopardizing my factory alarm?
Also, if anyone has a unit that fits this car that is clean and works, let me know, as I might be interested in buying it and going back to factory. Steve

The infiniti dealership was wrong. the alarm doesn't go through the head unit. I know because I installed a head unit on a 95 with an alarm, and it didn't mess it up at all. shut the doors, andwait thirty seconds and see if the alarm arms.

this shouldn't mess up your factory alarm. I think it my be the installers who messed up your factory alarm. I had a after market deck put in my g20 the same year and had no problems. if a problem keeps on occuring , then take it up with the installers. if not i guess you might have to get a new aftermarket alarm( this is probably abetter choice). let me know how this goes.

Thanks for the information guys! Here's what happened. I unplugged that pos battery terminal overnight. I went back out the next day, hooked the battery back up and PRESTO! Everything works fine. I drove it around a little bit to make sure. (I'm stuck with a company Malibu, but the gas and everything is paid for, the 95 P-10 sits in the garage, the 2001 Chevy sits outside.) Everything seems to be working fine.
I guess disconnecting the battery reset everything. I learned this trick from being a former Chrysler owner on their computertized transmissions~ OUch. I'm admitting to owning a Chrysler. Thanks for everyone's help. This site was far more helpful than my dealer, mechanic and local shops. (Which is why I decided to do it myself in the first place) Drive Happy!:smoker2: Next stop.... Moving to Tampa. Do I take my car? I'll have a brand new company car waiting for me. 2002 Taurus. Ouch again Also, Here's a new question for the G20 Group.... I've always wanted an M30. Any ideas? Maybe sell my G20 and then buy a M30 in Florida after I get settled. Steve
