Turbocharger

I have a 1996 Cutlass Supreme 3.1L. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a turbocharger for it? If you do know of a place, if possible, post their website so I can check it out.

Thanks A Lot,
William

in 1990-91 Pontiac made a turbo grand prix with a 3.1 multi port turbocharged engine. It's a direct bolt in for the 3100SFI, start looking, I sitll haven't found one...

adding a turbo

Hi,

Adding a turbocharger to an engine which was originally built as non-turbo is quite a difficult and expensive process. Getting a turbo you want is only a small part of it. You have to decrease engine compression ratio, get a more efficient oil pump (turbocharger needs an effective oil flow ratio) and also the intake must be modified to sustain high pressure air intake. Pistons, crankshaft, camshaft and head also will sustain higher tensions as the engine will produce more power and torque. An intercooler would also be very needed. Not mentioning the transmission And so on.
So rather than adding a turbo you should consider getting a turbocharged engine. Of course building such engine gives you a lot of satisfaction (ratioof more than 100HP of 1 litre of capacity is highly possibe) and of course you have the only engine of a kind

Greetings,
John
