I seriously think you just go with the sohc v-tec . It doesn't matter if your goin FI or N/A. Its still a good choice. I would go turbo on that thing just to get it moving. You're not gonna get far on all motor.

Yeah, 96 and up is the y8, and I believe 92-95 is the z6. I just picked up a y8 with tranny for $510. From what I hear they are good little motors to start with and have big potential.

y8 has 2 more hp than the z6 ... but from what i have heard it is more difficult to put a y8 into an std/dx/lx than it is to put a z6 in.

A'ways hayt'n

What's wrong with NA? I've seen many NA cars rape turbo'd cars. Turbo is such a cop-out... jes' daing turbo that there lump billy-bob, much less work...

I got lots more respect for a fast NA car than a fast turbo car...

And you dont HAVE to go VTEC to have a fast all motor car. Let me not bring in the example of Bizi Ezerioha who is known as having the world's FASTEST and QUICKEST (two different things) all motor honda...

With a twin carbed D15...

oops, just used Bizi's name again...

Not many people can afford to make a car as fast NA as they could with FI, thats why. Its such a cop-out? Why because its easier to make HP with? Wow, people who do that are such cheaters, eh? Fuck, its just another method to make your car a lot faster without all the cost. NA is okay, but its a lot of fooking money.. If I had a couple Gs to drop it would be for FI. (supercharger)
Maybe like you don't like turbos because they often beat NA ass? (with similar money spent)

BLU - Go with the Z6, Y8 would probably be a lot of trouble to swap because its OBD2, I know some people swap the Z6 with their stock non-OBD A6 ECUs. They have to use a VTEC controller of some sort to activate the VTEC, but for the cost and effort the Z6 is a good little swap.
Get an Si trans. too.

Well let me tell you, where I live (in South Africa), turbo conversions are way more expensive than NA tuning. Over here, NA is the cheaper alternative. Hence, most guys here opt for NA, cost wise... which is also maybe why in this country NA tuning has been refined to almost an artform... Also, most guys do their OWN NA tuning, but most guys do not do their own turbo conversions... that's what meant by cop-out: it's nice to be able to say: I've got a fast car, and I did it myself...

thanx siz....i went on www.hondaswap.com and say that the y8 was obd-2 and i don't want to have to go thru all that wiring....so i guess i'll be looking for an z6...

i thought about na b/c i would prefer it over a turbo but itz very costly here in the states...so i guess i'll just build up the internals and go with a turbo.....too bad T.O.O. has yet to come out with his supercharger

Umm excuse me? I'm goin all out on all motor. I said goin NA on sohc is not worth it. Now for a b-series like ME is a different story. Sohc+all motor= not worth the money or the time. Dont bring up Bizi....bad example. THat guy spent ALOT OF MONEY! Its not an easy thing for him to be that fast. Just because he did it that doesn't mean everyone else can. So using him as an example is bad.

Not to mention his car is probably like 1800lbs.. A stock D16A6 in a car setup just like his would probably run 14s.

Hey, If you want to go V-tec, I have a v-tec head from a z6 with a killer ZEX cam in it that I'll part with for relatively little. Then you could pick up a 1.6L non-vtec for less and prolly save some cash, plus get a cam in it. I also have a set of pistons for the same motor. I definitely agree that that is the way to go. There are an abundance of parts for that motor, and it's a great base for a solid running car... I wish I had gone that way instead of ZC....
