Angry Bad Vibration

I have been having this vibration problem with my Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4x4 for quite some time now and can't seem to figure out the cause of this crazy shake. It has new ball joints, shock, steering stabalizer, the tires and rimes are all good and balenced. What happens is that I get this insane side to side body shake at around 90km and up. It will sometimes occure at 80km if I hit a large enough bump in the road.
I can't seem to figure out what is causing this insane shake but I have been driving around for the past 2 weeks not able to exceed 80km hr and am starting to get really frustrated.

Has anyone experienced this problem and know what the cause is? My steering is a little loose, could that be it?

PLease help I am starting to fear for my safety!!!
Scott

With the vehicle parked, try holding onto the tire and shaking the wheel. Use your whole body weight and see if there is any play in the wheel itself. There shouldn't be. But if there is it could be a tie-rod or wheel bearing.

I had this problem, it was due to uneven tires. I had the truck aligned and got new tire, crazy shake gone.

Re: Bad Vibration

Thanks for the tip!
But I've already had the front end aligned, all 4 tires balanced 3 times, new shocks, steering stabalizer, ball joints, tie rod ends, steering box adjusted, and new traction bar. After all this the damn mechanics still have no answers for me, if it was a Chev it would have been figured out and fixed for half the cost that this headache has caused me.

I'm going to try and replace the main crank pully(dampaner) and see if that does anything, I've been told that this may fix it. If it doesn't I'll make sure to climb the highest peek your talking about and push the damn thing off!

CHEVY MAN

Tire balance has nothing to do with uneven wear. I said my tires had UNEVEN WEAR! They were not unbalanced! READ THE FUCKING PRINT!
If you had all this replaced then I laugh at you, If its not alignment or uneven tire wear then it means you need the front skid plate to be put back on because it was prolly taken off a long time ago. The front skidplate acts as an air deflector that keeps air from causing turbulence in the front chassis. Jeeps with the offroading Package(or lifts) are a bit taller than base Jeeps. This added height exposes the chassis, driveline, and suspension components to catch too much air. This is a prob for most Jeeps because they have more ground clearance than most SUVs. The body normally covers these parts but with Jeeps without the Skidplate air gets to ram into everything in the front suspension.

Get rid of your Jeep already and go buy your fucking cavalier. Then go complain about it in the Chevy Forum.

Its funny how boys who have never been with a woman always say dumb shit like, "You need to get laid." or "sbrohman is the coolest dude in the world."

Have you sold your fucking Jeep yet?

sbrohman- I wish I could meet you. Then my foot could meet your ass.

Talking

I have to say that I love my Jeep. Jeeps are not for everyone that is for sure. But here's the deal. Jeeps were first, and still the best. Everyone else is following. Now I know that there are plenty of capable suvs out there but they are just picking in a market that was started by and ruled by jeeps.

I don't know if anyone really cares or if anyone other than myself, Sbrohman, and Spooleffect even reads this forum anyway, but you two are the most entertaining people on here.

You two fight like ex lovers. Now I am almost sure that you big 4X4 suv type guys are not gay so why do you bi*&ch at each other so much?

Sbrohman if you want to drive a chevy go ahead. its your choice to make. However, you may want to post your chevy problems in the chevy forum. I think all of your Jeep suggestions and constructive critisms are more than welcome here. If you want to bash Jeeps make sure you have something better than a chevy to do it with.

Spooleffect you take a horse to water but you can't make it drink. We can only show Sbrohman the way of Jeeps but we can make him drive one. He has the choice to drive what ever he wants. If his choice is a Chevy it is his to make. Not a good choice but still his to make.

My jeep is not fancy nor does it have any options like power windows/locks etc. But it is the best auto I have ever had. I am so impressed with it that I am planning on buying another one when/if this one dies. I have been saying that for about 80 000 miles now and I am not sure if I will ever get around to buying another one because my JEEP keeps on JEEPIN!

Hey rmousir! Where you been at man?

I wasn't arguing, I tried to tell him how to fix the prob but all he had to say was all Jeeps suck and all Chryslers suck. So that got me to the point wheres I just hate the mofo.

Like I said earlier, sbrohman, "Get rid of your Jeep already and go buy your fucking cavalier. Then go complain about it in the Chevy Forum."

Id be easy to tint windows on a Jeep, Real Easy. The windows are all very square and have a simple shape so the tint would be easy to cut out and apply.

Yeah the Jeep forum here is pretty slow. Just a few Jeep Fanatics in here.

66 Stang Huh? Cool, what color, eng, tranny, and other mods you plan on doing. Stangs are easy to work with because they have a HUGE aftermarket and restoration market. Parts are way easy to find.

yeah! it is not bad. right now it has a six but I don't know for how long. LOL. imay just putm up the six and go from there. The color is red now but the original is called 'silver frost' and it will go back to that. I have found some really cool stuff for the car. when I am done it will have a really good retro look to it but still somewhat modern. Right now i am saving for a mig so i can cut out the cancer and replace it with some solid steel. then the rest of the body. My goal is to have it ready for paint by next summer. we shall see. then the motor and interior. then CRUZ!
