vr4 vs. sl

Really, how much better is the vr-4 compared to the SL. i have an SL and am wondering if no matter what i really do, will it match up with the vr-4. Let me know.

Uhh........ NO. VR-4s have, um...what are they called, twin turbos and um...SLs don't.

Ok sorry for being an ass, but realisticly, if you have enough cash ya it will be able to comptete. Heck, with enough money you could make it a sub 9 second beast. But with a S/C you might be game for a stock or near stock VR-4 and with a twin turbo swap, maybe a little more but being able to run with a decently modded VR-4 or R/T TT would be a real stretch. The turbos + awd + aws + a few other of the edges our turbo brothers have on us tends to be a lot to overcome.

The best choice would be to not worry about being able to beat every VR-4 but just spend enough and get your car to where you can beat all the Mustangs, Camaros, most V8s and all the rise trash and call it a day. I'm not one of the people who will tell you just forget it and buy a TT because all these cars are too great for that so just be happy with what you have. Good luck with your car and modding.

Realistically, you have no chance on exactly matching the VR4. Creature comfort of the cars are already the same. For a few bucks, you can make the cars look the same. However, you’ll not be able to turn the car into a AWD beast no matter what you do. You could do an engine swap and make a hybrid (its been done a few times) but you’re still stuck on FWD.

The sl compared to the vr4 is like day and night. I have both a 94 sl and a 94 vr4. I had the for about 2 years when i first got i was going to mod it but its a waste of $$$. No matter what you do to the thing it will still be slow. Save your $$$ and purchase a vr4.

vr4 has the getrag 6-speed AWD and the twin turbo setup. Not much you can do to make the sl comparable.....
