valve adjustment?

I've got a 95 G20t with about 97K miles. I plan to do a complete tune up soon.

My question is, is the cam/valve gap adjustable/solid on non-adjustable/hydaulic?

Thanks,

Ross

Ross, the SR20DE engine has hydraulic valve lash adjusters (HVLA). You do not need to adjust this.

What are you planning on doing for your tune-up?

Well, now we have yet another member from Houston. Cool.

clean throttle body, belts, EGR valve, valve cover gasket (leaking), spark plugs, distributor cap & rotor, air filter, bleed brakes and replace brake pads (if necessary).

Anything else you recommend replacing or cleaning while I'm at it?

Many thanks,

Ross

Only use NGK plugs. It may sound silly, but everything else runs like crap on this engine sooner than later. Plats or copper are both fine. The plats have a recommended change interval of 60k miles, but I personally know a number of people who have not only used them longer, but have replaced 2-3k miles Bosch plats with 100k NGK plats and all of their idle and driveability problems went away!

The OEM plug wires are the best until you get to the $200+ Nology wires. Those are only really necessary with crazy high boost turbo set-ups.

You'll probably want to adjust your TPS as well as base idle and timing. The procedures are on SE-R.net.

Like I said, it's too bad you missed our geekout on Friday. Geekouts are what we call our local gatherings where we work on our cars. We also had a 02 WRX wagon here. One of the SE-R owners bought one. Nice car.

Thanks for the info. I agree NGK's are excellent plugs, they are all I use in my cars.
