yeah i've had the same problem w/ my 97 GT. i got new drums and rotors put on, and just about half of the time after i back up, the ABS light comes on. once i restart the car though, it goes off. that is until i back up and turn again. Does anyone know if this is a major problem or not?

I have the same problem but I changed my front pads and rotors. Have you found a fix to this problem yet?

It drives my wife crazy!

Low flluid will turn on the red brake light not the ABS light.

You need to look at the wheel speed connector on the wheels you did brakes on. It is possible to knock the connector off or knock it loose.

Speed connector is on the backside of the rotors. If you look at the control arm you will see the wires running up it and going under the hood of the car by the engine cradle.

I've got a 96 grand am and i also had this problem after changing my front brake pads. LUCKLY I FOUND THE PROBLEM. At first it was supposed to be a wheel sensor in the front left tire that tells the computer how fast your wheel is spinning. It was supposed to cost $300 CND to fix. But my mechanic is a great guy he found that the wire going to the sensor was somehow cut and the sensor was fine. After that the ABS light never came on again, I don't know bout the ETS light.

usually if you take care of the ABS problem, the ETS light will go out as well.

Acutually now that i think back my ETS light did go on aswell, it's cuz the ABS system is tied in with the traction controll, the ABS goes on cuz the computer senses something is wrong with the wheel sensor. Just check the wheel sensor like I mentioned in my last post.
