pop charger and CAI

So i've seen just tons of all your fantastic engines i'm mostly seeing just pop chargers from jwt instead of a CAI. Sure its a bit more expensive, but why is this? Shouldn't typically, the CAI give us more HP? And can't we take the Place racing CAI and stick a pop charger on the end? Is there some side affect that i'm missing?

by pop charger U mean the cone filter......if yes ....there are quite a few people who have the CAI with a cone filter on the end, but most peeps prefer the HS CAI...and there is a cone filter attached to the end of them, althought U can't see them because of where they are......

well after checkin out many of the pics on the this af board i've seen mostly the cone type filter...but i haven't seen anybody who has the CAI. The CAI should give you more hp tho right? Yeah i know the CAI reaches downwards and is much longer than the stock intake, but i was also wondering if the threat of water getting into the CAI is a big problem? PS i live in MN, and i if i get a CAI i should have a way to replace it easily each winter right?

nope you don't haveto worry bout the water thing, as you would fit an AEM bypass valve, which helps against that......I know b-boogie and p11gt have CAI fitted in thier cars and they also have pics somewhere, u'll have to search a bit deeper.....

Hmmm I know we have like covered this topic in here very thoroughly...i suggest doing a search

The CAI *does* make more HP...becuase of the resonating effect of the long tube...and a bit of denser air.

Many people (including me) do worry about hydrolock with the engine. It only takes a little water to do it. However, there have been many people on here that have CAIs and have driven in rain, through standing water and have never had a problem. I would think if you keep your fender liners on you would never have a prob, especially with the AEM bypass valve. I know the AEM bypass will not fit on some CAIs so do your research.

POP charger

I bought mine because it was a good price. JWT were the first to create it so I went with them instead of STILLEN. It did give alot more power that I noticed. Just make sure to keep it clean. I am getting rid of mine cuz I want to try a CAI personally. Canadians have alot of snow but not rain. My fam is from england and there it would be a B!tch Blimee!
