Yo Dude - I ran a 2 or 2.25" exhaust from my stock cat back...I would have to go measure it to be sure the diameter, but I asked the shop to make a new cat-back system (minus the resonator) using whatever size pipe was the same as the opening in the cat....It looks stock, except for the slightly larger tail-pipe, it sounds awesome and it definitely increased top-end power & flow, even with the d15b2 (no loss of power after 5k like stock tiny-ass pipes)

I need to snap some pics before it starts to look bad and rust & shit but I've been lazy

cool b/c i pulled again for my exhaust yesterday and itz starting to get annoying....

so i'll see how much it is to have 2.25" cat back piping run into a stock exhaust....if jim shows up i'm gonna see if he can get me a price on a EF9 exhaust

I wanna know the same thing, I've heard it used several times lately. Who makes a muffler for the sedan or hatch that is pre bent to use in your stock location?

I don't see any reason why you couldn't run 2.25" pipe but I haven't done it or tried so I really don't know.

It will probably be quite restricted.. Think about it, you're running 2.25" piping into a muffler thats made for like 1.75" piping.. It doesn't even make any freakin' sense to me! Just go to a car shop and buy a peformance muffler that looks like the stock one, but with 2.25" inlet and outlet, and then get an exhaust shop to just bend it all to look stock. Thats what I did for my setup, but I used 2.5" cat, piping, and muffler. The muffler is a Dynomax Super Turbo, it was like less than $50 (american), and I just told the shop I want it to look totally stock. Its looks great with no tip or anything flashy, and it was nice and cheap.

It sounds awesome. Totally deep, nothing like the sound people get out of these cheap ass straight-through crhome mufflers. I will have pics up in about 4 days or so and you can see it. Its such a nice exhaust setup, I've have 4 different setups and this is by far my favorite. Its so quiet when you're just driving around normal, but when you get on it its got a nice toned down growl.
