240sx's in import mags

Has anyone else noticed the amount of 240sx article and drifting in all of the import car magazines?? I was at a store today and saw 3 mags w/240sx and drifting articles. Not only will every teen around my house own riced out civics but riced out 240sx's thanx to all of these magazines and some movies that involve drifting scenes...Just a little question I had.

just three? i went to the mag store one day last month and all 5 import-based magazines on the rack had "drifting" on the cover in some way. i fucking hate this shit. it's good in some ways that drifting is receiving attention, because those of us who are serious about it will get more events, better support etc. the bad thing is, in some ways it's receiving the wrong kind of coverage. some magazines are making it out to be the next street racing, so that instead of late night 1/4 mile sessions, there will be late night drifting sessions. that's not right. i'm serious about drifting and wish to compete in it once i've got an adequate car, but i am a stern advocator of keeping it on the track. there's too many things "wrong" and "right" with the publicity for me to list them all, but hopefully the right will out-weigh the wrong, and hopefully this over-popularized drifting will just be another fad and will die down leaving only us hardcore individuals to remain true.

i got that import tuner and it says "we build a 240 drifter" yet they start off with and engine swap and mods and some 275/18 tires and rims... yeah way to go. but its magizines job to hype stuff/sell issues so you cant really hold it against them. s

whatever they want to do........... as long as they dont rice them out w/o an engine swap

honda guys will never get 240's.... they are more expensive and much more to maintain. plus they're caught up in all that b22 stuff. we're rb guys

they know nothing about nissan engines

Anyone see the new SS issue? Its the 240SX one. One of the cars is an S15 with NX and a decal on the side that says "don't drink and drift". WTF? Thats lame. And who the fuck puts NX in a drift car? I bet they don't even drift it. It was a bunch of texans anyway. I guess you could call it a riced Silvia...which doesn't sound right at all. Too many magazines are featuring 240's which are all mostly drift vehicles. Sonn all of the Civic owners who read it are going to trade their cars in, buy 240's, rice them, and say they drift

. I'd hate to see this happen...and I'm sure most of you would too.

i respect that car bacause it has quite a few top notch japanese parts on it. i was reading the mag at the shop today and i in no way condone it but its a nice car. its no yashio though by any means

i dont post very often i just watch whats going on alot but ive gotta give you guys respect for the way you feel about our cars and our sport theres a few of us on here that i agree with like 99% of the time and i cant believe this magazine bullshit thats been happening lately

oh but i got off track..... i was meaning to tell you guys to contact me if your gonna be buying parts or anything for your cars. i can get you deal from the shop i wark at and im trying to get some orders together for the next shipping crate were bringing in.

so as not to whore up this thread with OT talk, could you possibly PM me with what kinds of parts you are able to get and what kind of deals i'd be looking at? it'd be MUCH appreciated.

that NX S15 is as poserish as they come. some nice parts on it, but the don't drink and drift sticker is gay. and NX on a drift car? when the fuck are you going to use No2 while drifting? also, the trunk of that car is FILLED with heavy subwoofers and amps and shit. not a drift car by ANY means.

Im just counting down the days till I see a riced out 240sx w/apc "performance parts", cut off exhaust to get that nice "im not emissions legal but who gives a shit" sound, and those honda type r badges plastered everywhere,(god knows they add at least like 50hp) you know the "good" stuff

not...This all I have to show to all the import mags that are breeding the next generation posers (im "the next generation") but dont plan on plastering my car w/so much rice (actually no rice in my case) that I could feed a homeless family for a month. This all I have to show for all the import mags out there

hmm, I was afraid the impreza would be.

There are very few 240's where I am, and modded ones are even rarer. I guess I don't have to worry.

As long as body kits are pretty hard to come by then the 240 won't be the next big rice machine platform. I only know of one or two easily attainable outrageous body kits like that stupid fang style and I think one other. Most are fairly mild, but I still like the look of stock way more.

I think most people who are into the Honda craze are into being able to get the car and parts to mod it very easily. The prelude doesn't have a lot of body kits and a lot less support than the civic and I rarely see one that is rice moded (I have seen quite a few with body kits and the usual lowering springs and crap though...). Even Integras aren't riced out much compared to Civics. I think the craze with Civics, Accords and Eclipses will continue until the whole rice mod fad dies. I think there isn't much to worry about with the 240 becoming riced a lot...I see quite a few whenever I'm out driving and usually all the exterior mods they have is an exhaust...so they still look very very very nice.
