Latest HLJ order

My R34 GTS order came in, but I am keeping it for another day.

Just ordered the following,

AE86 Levin

Boarder Type Muffler

Impul Mesh Wheels

I plan to make this one of my best builds(well, its my 3rd model) I've ever done. Plan to do it in glossy black with the moldings flat black. Maybe thinking about a carbon fiber hood, but I dont know yet.

Thats a perfect size IMO. How are the tires sidewall width wise? Can you post a pic of them(if they are on a model).

most AE86 guys use 14" wheels, especially for drifting...

17" would not look right IMHO - 15" max!

spud, take a look at www.club4ag.com for some paint scheme ideas if you haven't already...

good luck! i've got a trueno hatch on my shelf waiting for me!

Are the Impul's 17's?! I thought they were 15's. Damn, I need a pair of mesh rims up front!

Thx for the site!

Can any reccomend an engine to put in this?? Maybe a 2JZ? If yes, does anyone have one that I could possibly have?

no, they're 14" - you're cool.

engine? well, how "realistic" do you want to be?

4AG is the "stock" engine. Most swaps center on this engine

20V 4AG (AE111 LEvin/Trueno)
Supercharged 4AGZE (MR2)
16V 4AG "redtop" (later model, NA)

its quite rare, but i've seen the engine from the IS300/Altezza swapped, as well as the S2000 engine (FJ20?)

no room for the twin turbo j series engines...let alone chassis stiffness!

Do they make the 20V(or even the 16V) 4AG in model form? The Tamiya 2JZ would probablly take a lot of of fabrication to stick onto the Fujimi chassis, eh?

Yeah, but its most likely not a complete engine. Just a molded engine already connected to the chassis.

I think Im just going to not do the engine now. My plan is to build this and finish my garage diorama. Then, but a tamiya Supra and make it seem like a junker and have the diorama in the midst of the 2JZ being swapped into it.
