damn hoons!

I put the car through the warrant last week.It was late on a Friday, the guy was feeling generous."put some water in your windscreen washer,eh?" and he stuck his hole punch through the sticker, and slapped it on the windscreen. It was dark when I got home, but true to my word,I popped the bonnet and groped around for the washer reservoir cap.Gingerly I poured in 2 litres of carefully-mixed windshield cleaner.

It ran out onto my feet.

A quick look in daylight revealed the problem. The washer pump has been removed, and the wiring cut.The plastic tub that connects to the y junction on the underside if the bonnet is gone as well.

Why? well,I have it on good authority that the trick is to punch a hole in the rear wheel arch and poke a tube into the boot. It's relatively easy to dicky up the washer pump so that you can spray diesel or kerosine straight onto the rear tyres for burnouts. The only consolation that I have is that the job was never completed on this car.Where the pump and hose went to,who knows.......

Some assholes just don't deserve Skylines.

Sucks that you ran into a problem like that, although I haven't heard of that trick until now. I guess you learn something new every day, look on the bright side, you still have a Skyline...I would kill for one. Seriously. Just tell me who.

well in movies they have glicerine sprays for the rear tires to skid......i think that is a much better ideea than flamable kerosene or diesel

Sorted, thanks.Pump is common to a Cefiro, dead ones all through the yards down here.Just bugs me that I keep finding jobs that take 5 mins and $10 to fix,but require a 1 hour round trip to the nearest wrecking yard.

Of course the logical thing to do would be to wait a month or so and keep a list, but I get pissed at details.

Oh,and by the way Repco SUCKS.It's a 92 r32 Skyline with a CA18i motor. How come every wrecker I have met can match the parts to the car,but Repco can't supply the right fuel filter or transmission filter kit?

That's because when it comes to car parts, Repco are good at ........ actually, they ain't even that good....... but there shops are easily visible. I liken them to a supermarket, you go there because it's convenient, not because they know.

Actualy it depends on which REPCO you goto, there are two in my area, one in the middle of the suburbs that is total crap! Iv been there once looking for parts and I will never go back.

But there is one that is one the edge of the East Tamaki industrial zone and so services the at leat 100 differnt automotive repairers in the area.
I can walk in there and give them a chassis or engine number and get the parts I want with out them even having to look it up on the computer.
