Some action for me FINALLLY!!!!(LONG)

Dang finally, a night of rallying fun!! I set up a little cruise night with a few of my friends. The plan was to meet at In N out, cruise out to brea via freeway, then back through a canyon road. A good amount of cars show up.. So here's the list:

=95 325is-exhaust, 18'' nice ass Hammans, suspension, brakes
=350z touring edition
=RSX
=68 or 67 mercury cougar
=new style audi a4 1.8t with intake and exhaust
=95 Mustang GT vert auto with the exhaust disconnected at the cats
=99 v6 stang 5speed
=mid 90's Ford Exploder
=a pos new kawasaki ninja 250R

so we're just cruising on the freeway, which has a little bit of traffic.. but the GT stang and I have wanted to go at in long time.. we finally get a small amount of room, so i wait for him to hit it.. i drop it into 3rd gear around 60mph and hit it as well, I pull pretty hard but only for a few seconds because of cars in front of us.

We get to the destination, park the cars.. take a few pics and walk aroudn the area.. Everyone gets bored. So we all go get ready to leave. We hit the twisties, and have a load of fun rallying aroudn in there. We end up going through the canyon 3 times wihtout any trouble at all.

Now on our way back is where i finally get some action... I have been waiting to run this 350z for quite a while now.. we slow down to around 30mph.. he honks 3 times, and i'm not sure if he's going or not, so i wait till i here his automatic downshift to go... top of 2nd his rear bumper is at my front wheel, top of 3rd.. around 80 mph, he's probaly got 3 cars on me. We do this a few more times... results are about the same as long as i dont wait for him to downshift... the two times I hit it right when the third honk sounds, i get a good jump and stay in front of him by around 2 cars by 80.... If that guy actually jumped forward by the third honk, he'd probaly stay in front of me by 2 cars at 80-90 mph.. Boy that was a lot of fun.

I really want to pull on his ass.. I'm gonna bump up the timing soon, and we'll see if that helps at all!! Thanks for reading. Goodnight.

You can race from zero to fuel shut off.. racing doesnt have to be high speed.

.

Yeah I think my S-10 isn't allowed to go over 97 or it tries to shut off. I only got it up to 95-6 once but never dared to push my luck any further.

Sweet sounds like fun!

I have a friend with a bone stock 93 GT, with only advanced timming, short belt and a K&N he ran a 13.6 at the local dragstrip , on street tires. Yours being a LX its is going to be a bit lighter then the GT trim, so you ought to do allright.

No offense, but are you below sea-level?

Intake/full-pipes/exhaust Fox-GTs at my local track run about low 15's/high 14's. This is at about 1,000ft elevation.

I have seen a few 16-second runs too, mostly by sucky drivers, but like I said, the average lies between low 15's to high 14's.

Read this:

Again, I'm not flaming, but it seems in AZ, the 'Stangs here don't seem to live up to the hype...and I KNOW they're a lot faster than that, because one of my friends in high-school had a GT and he ran mid-14's at Sacramento Raceway with just a bolt-on exhaust and no filter, and that track isn't known for its excellent conditions.

Nope the run was about 700 ft above sea level. I wasnt there for the run nor do I remeber what the 60ft times where, but I do know the car and the track. Short belt, advanced timming and K&N filter where all the mods. He just wrecked the car flipped it on its roof, so it wont be making any more runs. I guess the mustangs are kind of like your SE-R, they run much faster then magazine times.
And you must have one of the worse tracks in the country or the worst drivers, those times are ridiculous. At, the local track here the worst I have seen a mustnag GT run, that wasnt botched by the driver is a 14.9 And that was on a bone stock down to the paper filter on a 96 GT. Your low 15s to high 14s is the Norm here for bone stock GTs

I should be quicker than your budy with the mods I have compared to his. But I coudln't even beat a low 14 second car.... I'm pretty sure my shifting is avera ge... So I dont know... my mods are: 3.73 rear gears, k&n filter, exhaust, and short shifter.
