Hell (the place)

Am I the only person that thinks this crap was made up? Back in the days when the people in charge tried to think up a big consequence for being bad . Like when parent threaten thier kids with the "boogy-man" or someting. And people these days try to be sinless so they don't go to "hell"...and it works

It's the whole faith thing again.

If you believe that a guy[or whatever] can create a planet in 7 days, and his son can come back from the dead, the concept of hell is a cinch to swallow.

All I can say is,thank God I'm an atheist.

Naki... you confuse me sometimes

Actually, I myself believe in God, and therefore believe in hell, and satan, but that's just one mans beliefs. As Naki said, it's about faith, everyone has a different kind.

Hmmm, this coming from somebody who lives in "Skyline heaven" and has seen "Toyota hell"
Of course, then again the idea that the universe just created itself is no less silly than the idea that a God created everything (different religons, different time spans) Or you could just become Jewish, no hell for them - just the seventh ring of heaven, which if I understand correctly (and I probably don't) is about the equivelent of living in Wyoming.

Never heard about this 7th ring of heaven...

We have yearly repentance and apparently after you repepnent, god decides your fate, but everyone gets treated equally in the afterlife.

I meant that telling people that they'll go to a bad place called hell if they commit a sin is a plan that works, people try to be good... so they don't go to "hell". The plan of creating a consequence (spelling?) for doing wrong works. THAT'S what I meant

Hell has never been the best demotivator (not really a word) but it sure helps in generating bad guys for some movies.
