stock b16a vtec rpm engagment?

my friend thinks the vtec kicks in about 3500rpm and I said I thought it kicked out 5200rpm... which is a stock b16a vtec engaging rpm? Thanks in advance.

It's definetely not 3500, i think it's between 5200-5500.

I'm pretty sure with the PR3 its something like 5300 or something along those lines...

Personally, I wouldn't waste money on those VTEC controllers crap. They're pretty usless unless you don't have major mods. Same goes for a chip..

Either way, I like to stay ABOVE 6000rpm anything below is just boring.

eventually I plan on doing a CRAP load to my car so maybe the vtec controler is for me? I dunno but for now i'm jus gonna run stock vtec rpm.

Vtec kicks in at 5500rpm, as for controllers, I say Apex-i VAFC, best way to go 'cause you get to set Vtec and control your A/F ratio.

Mine kicks in at 51 or 52. I know its not 5500.


Siz- those v-tec controllers help alot if you get aftermarket cams. From what i've been told that running aftermarket cams is not that effective without the v-tec controller. For STOCK motor v-tec controller is not needed.

5400 in my SiR. VTEC controllers are a wank and ruin your torque curve unless you are changing cam profiles dramatically etc.
