well just replace it and it won't cause you any more problems..

when there's knocking and rattling that could be a sign of the wheel bearings going bye bye.. have it checked out

Re: Wheel Bearings

I had the same thing happening in my 99 Grand Am and I Just got the wheel bearings replaced, now there is no more ticking, grinding, knocking, or anything. I suggest calling different places for price quotes, because the job can be expensive, especially at the pontiac dealerships! Hope that helps!

Dealerships are bad, mmkay? They don't even do very good work, for the most part. It sounds to me like CV-joints. However, it's easy to check both. But that part of the car in the air, and look at your CV-boot...it's the big black piece of plastic with ripples all in it. Check to see if it's torn or leaking. If it is, you've got a CV-joint out. If not, attack the wheel while the car is still in the air. Kick it and shove it up and down. If it moves much at all, besides the normal sag when it goes up in the air in the first place, you have a wheel bearing out.
