Question Have u ever ran from the cops during a race?

This has never happened to me but. Have you ever had to run from the cops during street racing? Got any stories?(no fake stories!)

well, in that case, I passed an off-duty cop over a double yellow line going 60 in a 25 zone. He pulled me over, but since he was off-duty he really didn't feel like giving me a ticket. Lucky me:flash:

one day not long after i got my license, i was on my way home when a grand am v6 pulled along side me on the interstate and gunned it a couple of times. i was in a 94 probe se (i know, they suck, but i was young and impressionable!) so i knew he would probably win, but i rarely pass up a chance to race. he floored it and i kicked mine down to forth and tried to catch up. i was actually getting closing in on him by about 90, and before i knew it we were doing something over 105 around a bend into merging traffic. we darted around a couple of semis and i had to pass a town car on the shoulder when he (accidentally?) cut me off. i know the road well, so i knew there was a turnaroud coming up where i had seen cops sitting before, and i started to slow down. i really didn't want to, though--i was almost catching up to the pontiac. we topped a hill and, little did i know, there was an unmarked sitting in it. he clocked me at 88. since it was an unmarked car, i didn't even see it until i had already passed and he flipped on the cherries and blueberries (it was about 8pm and dark out). i saw that i was still going pretty fast, so i decided to maintain that speed like i didn't see him and try to make an exit about a half mile ahead. i know, stupid idea!!! anyway, i don't know what he has under the hood of this car, but its no standard black and white. he was on my ass long before i hit the ramp. turned out to be one of the most hated cops in our area. everyone knows who he is, many because of similar experiences. he walked up to my window laughing!! said "you're the fastest one i've caught all night!" i asked why he didn't get the grand am that passed me, to which he replied "you were closer!" i was so pissed, but i guess in the end i was lucky. i tried to reason with him (it was a week before christmas) to no avail. i got a $95 ticket and had to take traffic school for 8 hours, for a total of just under $200. not the most exciting story, but it taught me at an early age that you CANNOT outrun the cops. even if you happen to get lucky, no one can outrun the radio!

Thats not true, you have around 6 min to get away before the radio and backup comes. Last june me and two friends were coming home from a party in south austin. My 74 vette, a 78 transam 455, and a 69 camaro 400. We all decided a long time ago if cops were to come while we were together that we would split and go different directions. Well that night an unmarked car came behind us and fliped on the lights. I wasn't going to run but i saw wes in the transam take off. So i threw mine down and we were off, we split 3 ways the cop went after the 69 camaro, I guess it was my lucky night, my friend aaron got a 450 dollar ticket, and his licence was suspended.

Only once, but I was not street racing. I was headed from the free way to my house going about 65 in a 50. As I come around this bend I see a cop pulled off the side of the road. There is nobody in front of me and no body behind me for about 200 feet so I am pretty much toast right? Nope, I turn into the Micron parking lot and pull a U turn and pull out drop the hammer and cut in front of a Jeep. I then pass my brother on a turn towards my sister’s house and warn him about the cop. I take off down that road as fast as I can and take a long way around to my house. I got home without a hitch and my bro told me that not too long after I passed him the cop did. His sirens weren't on. I think he wanted to run my plate but I am not letting him do that so he can give me a ticket for speeding as well.

Truly I wasn't really running from the cops since he never turned on his siren and I never saw him following me. Not like my car is one you see everyday anyhow. Which worries me.

Cool

haha, one time i was like racing in the morning to work, and like i got stoped and i didn't see hime he was at a gas station i cut through, and i got a ticket for exibition of exceleration and got it dismissed because i said it was wet that morning and my wheels spinned.

2nd one is when i met another mustang and it took his ass bad, and i was like why is this guy slowing down and killing the race because he wasnt' even trying... i guess he had a radar because he saw that cop that started tailgating me and i was going to tap on the brakes becuase i thought it was another racer trying to be slick or somthing, good thing i didn't because it was a cop, good thing i just excelarted fast and didn't speed he didn't give me a ticket becuase i guess he didn't realy have a reason to and he got a more important call

although it wasn't realy running from the cops oh well....

YEah actually I have outrun the cops a few times, the first time I was very young and I was riding my 80cc suzuki dirt bike illegally on the highway near my house to go pick cherrys, so anyway I was going down this road and about a 1/4 mile ahead I spotted a cop so I busted a fat powerslide u turn and raced back up to my street, But I didnt stop at my house, I sped dangerously down the street glanced back to see the cop making the turn onto my street, then turned around the bend of the street, it made an S curve around a building so I made the turn, quickly raced off the road over a small berm and layed my bike down, killed the engine and laid still, I glanced over the hill to see the cop hauling balls down the street, He drove up and down a few times, (it was a dead end street) then went to the donut shop I assume.

The second time I was just 16 just got my license and I was transporting one of my fathers business associates who flew in from Saudia Arabia, I picked him up at the local airport and was driving down a 4 lane mainstreet, the street went over a humplike bridge and then leveled out, anyway I was coming down the hump and I decided to do something stupid and make a illegal u turn across a 4 lane street so I did and as a finished the u turn I noticed a cop coming over the hump, so I quickly dashed in an 1 lane street, (I was driving a 86 caddilac coupe deville, My first car) and floored it, About 1/10th of a mile up the steet I glanced back to see the cop come in the street with his lights on so I turned into an alleyway and quickly turned up streets right and left as soon and quick as I could, I finnaly came out on a highway and sped home, You should have seen the look on the businessmans face, He didnt ever know there was a policeman behind me.

never ran, but cops helped me once...

about a week after i got my gs i was standing near it outside a bar in my hometown. my friend and i were there looking for a challenge on the pool tables, but this place was popular with less desirable types as well. anyway, while we were chatting with some friends from school in the lot, a z34 with three guys in it flies up and they proceed talking all kinds of sh** to my friends. it ended with "we'll be waiting around the corner." i didn't think much of it at the time, but when we pulled out, they turned from a side street and got on MY ass! with the tinted windows, apparently they thought the guys they were after had gotten into my car. and they were obviously pissed about something! i ran three stop signs to keep him from ramming me, doing about 60 in a 25. turned several corners (we were in a residential area) onto a wider street and hit 80 in short order. i knew the z34 was pretty fast, but i also knew i could take him on the straights. i guess i am not crazy enough, though. i slowed for intersections and stop signs which he blasted through, and didn't get very far ahead. ended up taking him to a less crowded part of town in hopes of smoking his ass on some backroads. just when i hit the hard road, we got stopped by a train! two of them jumped out and proceeded trying to break out my windows. one kicked the passenger side door--hard. the third appeared to be looking for something in the car--i'm thinking, GUN!! i knew this could get ugly fast, so i jumped a curb and turned around, and soon they were behind me again. at this pt my friend got on the cellphone with the troopers. i put the car into a sideways skid and made a corner which they missed, and we got blocked by another train (it was sort of a train yard)! i used my temporary advantage to turn around again. they backtracked to the turn and we just sat there revving at each other for a moment. incidentally, this offered us a chance to get the plates. they must have realized what was about to happen as they sped past, this time with ME in hot pursuit! of all things, the dispatcher says "don't lose them!" that was all i needed to hear! i gave him a bit more room than he had given me, for safety's sake. but still it was nearly impossible to give our location when it was changing so fast. eventually we got on a main street, again about 70 in a 30, when a cop flew by. this part made the whole ordeal worth it. we watched as they slowed to 30mph, and some dude jumped from the back seat!!! he rolled over like fifteen times and got up and took off! only he was so disoriented that he ran into the side of a building and got tackled by some cops! they caught the rest in short order. turned out the one that jumped was on parole for home invasion and is spending two years in prison now. i can't remember ever being so grateful to see the red n blues! also gave me great respect for the regal--may be big but it can still haul ass! sorry for the length...

ive only ran a few times from the cops but the most memorable was in my friends mx-6. we were young and stupid and decided to steal a sqeegy from a gas station. later another friend of mine launched it at a car dealership. of course who comes over the horizon as soon as he lets go? the po-po! we see him make a quick uturn and turn on his lights. we weave thru back streets till we dont see him anymore. we get out of the car and go up to a random house and knock on the door as the cop rolls by. phew! got lucky there. haha the person that answered the door was like wtf??? hehe stupid kids
