burning smell??

Lately, I have been smelling a burning kind of smell coming from under the hood. Can't pinpoint it exactly. Usually after I have ran it for a while.

It smells more like an electrical burning smell...the only thing I can compare it to is when I had remote control cars years ago....and the little white resistor that always had the "do not touch" sticker near it...

it smells like that used to smell when it got hot...if anyone knows what the heck I am talking about...

Someone told me it could be my cooling system but I just had it flushed recently and it is not running hot ??

Any ideas?

Sometimes that smell comes from my car, I've smelled it on some other cars to. Unless you see smoke or something obviously burning I wouldn't worry about it.

i had a burning smell a while back... turned out the gasket on my oil pan was worn out. so oil was dripping down onto the exhaust...

i read something about worn out ignitions giving off a burning smell.. but i dunno

I just changed the oil so it could be that my overspill is dripping down...that probably is it... I hope

Oh and my MC is shot... 185,000 on the car.... It works...but slowly drops the pedal at lights... I always have to pull the ebrake at lights so I don't daydream and roll into the next car...but as long as it keeps stopping me...I can live with it...
