Fog Light install
I bought some non-Civic fogs and I want to try and wire them into the pre-wired system in there now. Is this possible or do I need oem-type ones only? Would I need the Civic interior switch or can I wire the one into it which came with my foglight kit with just the simple acc/batt/grnd connections?

I have universal fogs on my Civic. Just wire them in as the instructions state. You can use the switch that came with them, that's what I did with mine. The ACC wire (the wire you tap into your headlight wires) I tapped into my parking lights so that way I don't have to have my headlights on to have the fogs on. If you have high wattage fogs (higher than 55w) I'd highly suggest you wire them so that they can't turn on unless your ignition is on, so that way you don't accidently switch them on when you don't want to, and drain your battery.
As for the basic wiring of them, wire the power wire to your battery, and the ground wire to a good solid gorund of course, and if you want them like OEM, then wire the ACC wire to your headlights, and they'll only turn on when you have your headlights on.

Thanks, but that didn't quite answer my question. On the 2000 model there are two little wiring harnesses dangling behind the front bumper. You know those OEM fogs you can buy and put where those vent things are on the bumper? They plug right into those, and the kit comes with a switch which plugs in on the left side of the dash near the steering wheel. Just wondering if I can somehow rig the + and - into those harnesses instead of adding another wirey mess to my car.

Weird... Ok, I gotcha. I have a 2000 Civic myself, and I sure as heck don't recall any prewired harnesses for the OEM fogs, the 1000 times I've pulled off my front bumper, but the lights I have I wouldn't have wired up to them anyways no knowing which wire goes to what exactly had I seen any harness. The switch that came with my fogs I have, I just used the double sided tape that comes with it for mounting the switch and stuck it over the little panel square thing where the OEM switch for fogs would go, drilling a small half circle hol under the switch for the wire to bend around back through.

They fork off your headlight wires and I think they hang behind the front frame part. They are there though.

i know this is a little off topic but is it possible or hard to install foglights if your car didnt originally come with them or have the wiring for them.

Just get whatever looks good. Don't get those little pimple lights that everybody has, I hate those things. If I had the money I'd get the oem ones. Turns out the APC's I bought have a special little rice feature. After turning them off a green glow-in-the-dark ring glows for a minute or two. How fuggin gay is that shit man? I'm going to dig into them and tear that out when I buy some hyperwhite foggy bulbs to put in there.
