2x 12inch Alpine Type R's with a 1200 JBL amp . . hits hard but different . . unlike the L7's these have a loose base . . depends on ur flavor . . lets jus say these won't make ur heart thumping but they'll rattle everything else in ur car

isnt the 1200.1 a little much, I am not sure but i remember reading they handle about 300 RMSA or something like that, and the 1200.1 can push 1400+. the 600.1 is about 100 bucks cheaper and should be good for you. unless later you plan on subs that handle more, it would be good to have the power on tap for later.

if your looking for a personal opinion on type r's....
two of my friends have these one has 12s and one has 10s i think they sound terrible i would never consider getting them if ur going to get these u better get a custom built enclousre not some already built box from best buy or circuit city, if the subs come with paperwork/responsegraphs be sure to go by it recomended demensions this should be done with any subs..... and be sure to get a good amp and a head unit that has 4V preamp outs |

They are top of the line subs, without a doubt. My friend has a couple in his Integra powered by a 600.1, and they slam. They dont get incredibly loud, but the SQ is AMAZING. I highly recommend them.

well, a sealed is gonna have better SQ, I got good SQ out of my sub in a ported box but I designed it on the computer so thats probably a reason. but yeah, ported is my favorite too.

the Type R's IMHO are the best subs out on the market for the price, they are incredible SQ subs..........i had 1 12" in 1.0cuft sealed off a JBL 600.1 and I was VERY pleased with the sub........anybody who doesnt like these subs either heard a TERRIBLE install, or is a total idiot (no offense to the above poster) EVERY person I know whos heard or owns a type R was pleased........
