amp problem

hey i am having a problem with my amp( 1000 watt sony xplod, 2 12inch kicker comp vr). i keep blowing the fuses in the side of the amp and then when i replaced them the amp didn't work. it wouldn't come on. i checked all the fuses and the one under the hood but it never worked. i am also thinking about just buying a new bigger amp. if you have any suggestions on a new amp i should get or something that needs to be done to the one i have i would greatly appriciate it. thanks

check for any loose connections

Power cable
Ground cable
Remote(turn-on)

Are the 1st place I would check.

i've already checked those and they are all connected properly. any other ideas?

Internal problem? I dunno is there fuses inside cars amps like home stereo equipment has? I never had need to take apart an amp before so i dunno

Maybe your amp or speaker fluid is low?

Who installed it? If not you take it back where it was done

i installed it so there is no taking it back to have it worked on unless i want to spend some bucks.

ok. and i'm really not bein a smart ass, i'm just tellin u. the fluid eliminates resonance (standing waves) and reduces reflected waves from bouncing off the metal and coming back through the cone of the speaker. it helps everything come through loud and clean...

Ya, you can find it next to the blinker fluid & muffler bearings . . .

I was joking with that comment about the low speaker or amp fluid

My cousin sorta had the same problem. He burned up the coils inside the amp. The amp had 15, but he burned 13 of them. Smell the amp and see if it's smells like something has burned up. Other than that, I have no idea.

check and see what the impedence on the speakers are, and check how much your amp can handle. (i.e.- if your speakers are rated
@ 4 ohms, then if you parallel them you get 2 ohms. lets say your amp is rated at 1000 watts @ 4 ohms, then if you send a 2 ohm load, your amp is trying to draw 2000 watts and will more than likely burn up unless you have a protect feature on the amp. if that's the case then you'll want to wire each speaker to each channel on the amp, you'll only send out 500 watts per speaker, but that's the only way to do it.
now if your speakers are rated @ 8 ohms and your amp is rated
@ 4 ohms, then you're fine to parallel them. if you parallel a speaker with another one then you reduce your ohms by half.
always make sure that you don't have less ohms on your speakers than your amp is rated at.
