1997 Jetta Radio Troubles
Hey! This is my first post.
Recently, we had the alarm system on our '97 Jetta pull some funky short. We got it fixed so the car would start and run, but the radio is apparently done for. I know how to enter the anti-theft code, even had the dealer try, but I dont even get the 1000 when I hold down the 'mode' and 'scan' buttons - the word 'safe' just starts flashing. Anyone experience this? Does anybody out there know if a radio from a 2001 Jetta would be interchangeable with a 1997 Jetta? |

Just leave the radio turned on for 1 hr. Then the radio will reset and you can now get the 1000 display.

all stock head units of that body style jetta work... for each year... only thing you have to look out for is whether it is monsoon or not...
