Hids.. 3.2TL

Okay, I was planning on getting a 2002-2003 Maxima, and I know that people are having problems with their HIDs being stolen.. and I know that Acura Tls/Cls are having problems as well.. on the 1999 3.2TLs, are the HIDs available, standard, or ??? I hear from some that they're standard, and from others, I hear they weren't available until 2000 models..?

-I know what it's like to have things stolen from vehicles.. my car was broken into twice in two months before b/c of the stereo systems I've had... so having a fender, hood, and headlight / assemblies mutilated would be that much worse..
-isn't there anything that can be done to prevent the lights from being removed from the vehicle? Such as theft deterrent locks, or motion detectors that will set off the alarm?

-Thank you.

HID's were available for 99 TL's.

To protect your HID's there isn't much you can do except turn the sensitivity up on your alarm. Park near a wall or in a gated fence. Also keep out of trouble spots dark areas etc.

I think all of you should etch your vin number into the front of your headlights. Even fill the etch in with some paint to make in more visible.
