automatic tran ?

i have an 91 civ hatch dx 1.5 and an auto trans, when it shifts the gears it shifts really hard like and manual trans and will chirp the tires on dry pavement shifting from 1 to 2 gear and sometimes 3, and im wonderin if this is normal for these cars with auto trans?

nope its not normal at all.......... your motor mounts could be on there way out.

yea im gonna see how many miles in can put on it, when saving up money for swap(which will take about a year or more), trans fluid was changed early this year

Well my car only has 135k and it has given me lots of problems.And i have a feeling theres still more to come.

no i havent had major problems, but ive only have had the car for about 20,000 miles (most all miles are highway miles), when i bought it(100 bucks) i had to change the halfshaft, tie rod end, brake rotors and alterantor and the guy i bought it from took good care of it with maintence and shit, ive had good luck with it

Damn you bought ride for 100 bucks? It looks damn clean! i dont care if its automatic. I'd still get it and swap the motor in right away!

very possible. i had a busted mount & then the bolt fell out of another mount...every shift was rough. i would assume the same for an AT. then again...who knows what the previous owner and previous mechanics have done. have you downloaded the helm's shop manual yet?

i guess ill take a look at the mounts to see how they are and i havent downloaded a shop manual. but do have a haynes shop manual on the car

most likely it will be your rear mount. i had the exact same problem on my old hatch and your description seems like the same problem i had. after i replaced the rear mount, problem was fixed.
